Chhath Puja

We all know that the Chhath Puja was only a part of Northern India, specially peoples from Bihar and Jharkhand used to worship Lord Sun(Surya) by giving Aragh(Pouring water facing towards the Sun). But,worship of Gods can not be accumulated to a certain region in a religious country like India. Today,it is worshiped in almost every part of the country.          In my family,we never did rituals of Chhath Puja, but back few years my maternal grand maa told us to do it as she begged something from Chhath Maa and she fulfilled her wishes. That something was me obviously. So,my mom  started doing this but not full fledgedly as she does not have the physical energy to fulfill all the rituals,as she is old and can't sit and stand for a long time. So,she opted to give a bunch of Bananas to our neighbour aunty who worships chhath puja and goes to Ghat(Shore, may be of river or fresh water pond).          The biggest part of Chhath Puja is cleanliness. It is said and adhered to that the worshiper has to eat only veggie foods along with his or her family and maintain cleanliness from seven days before the puja untill the Puja ends. This years Chhath Puja was as usually on the Ghat of a fresh water pond nearby my locality.Hope, you all know about the rituals of this puja, sotheres nothing to say about it.Heres some pictures of Chhath Puja this year at Liluah.
you can see loads of people all around the pond

If I had two extra hours in a day,I would......

Picture courtesy-Internet Now a days, every person's life is so busy and so hectic that we do not get time for other things.Even we do not get much time to complete our pending works on the same day or other day.In this way,the pending works get clotted and becomes a huge mountain to climb upon .          I was thinking that in these busy hours of work or study,if I get two more extra hours in a day, what will I do ?         Whether I will spend them in completing my pending works of getting a new Ration Card,as we have from shifted from the rented house to our own home on the other side of the town,or will I go to meet some of my friends and relatives with whom I never find time to meet, though they are in the same town .        I have got other options also to spend my time, like meeting and having fun with my old classmates hovering around Kolkata or visiting my old area ...

India, donate in support to Wikipedia today to serve you free for years to come

On Monday, today, on an auspicious day of Rakhi Purnima  aka Rakshabandhan and  also the last Somwar (Monday)  of the auspicious month of sawan in 2020 for us Hindus, I was seeking for some information and opened up Wikipedia. I saw this message on top of the webpage. What caught my attention was the blue background (unfamiliar User interface than that of the website) and the popped up message requesting to all users from India. Wikipedia is humbly asking we Indians to donate in support of their initiative of ad-free service for years to come. We, the Indians, should join our hands in this donation initiative ignoring that even Wikipedia is not correct all the times. Check these screenshot below: Wikipedia asking for donations to all readers of India: ๐Ÿ‘‡Screenshot 1๐Ÿ‘‡ ๐Ÿ‘‡ Screenshot 2๐Ÿ‘‡ As we can see the Wikipedia donation request in the above screenshot for users of the India. Viewing 51 Feet Tall Lord Shiva Statue at Bangeshwar Mahadev Mandir in Howrah, Eastern India.

One of it's kind in Eastern India, this 51 feet tall Lord Shiva statue was unveiled by Honorable President Of India Shri Pranab Mukherjee on Sunday, December 13, 2015. The President along with his team and Governor of West Bengal Keshari Nath Tripathi visited the famous temple ' Natun Mandir' aka ' Naya Mandir' which means 'Newest Temple' in English, i.e, Seth Banshidhar Jalan Smriti Mandir or Bangeshwar Mahadev Mandir in Howrah early morning on Sunday. FYI, the Shiva Temple rests in between Howrah Railway Station and Salkia's Bandhaghat area exactly on Salkia School Road which is both way connected to Kolkata either by road or by river through Golabari-Armenian Ferry Service as well as Bandhaghat-Ahiritola Ferry service too. It would hardly take an hour to reach the landmark if you are connecting the nearby dots I mentioned above during peak traffic hours. First Day of inaugurating the tallest ever lord Shiva in Eastern India at Bangeshwar...
